Heidi’s heart has always been in service, something that her résumé readily speaks to. Over the years she has spent a great deal of time in the non-profit world, often with faith-based organizations. After seeing a need in homeless kids around schools in her area, Heidi was led to create the Children In Need program, which has been running since 2009. This organization has been instrumental in meeting the needs of thousands of kids and their families, providing them with everything from clothing to dental work. Heidi has also served as the Community Impact Director for Serve 6.8, an organization that works to provide relief and resources for victims of fires and flooding around Colorado.
As part of her work with Serve 6.8, Heidi acted as liaison between agencies in the community and thousands of volunteers to coordinate efforts, both in disaster relief and also general community support for those in need. In a way, Heidi’s involvement with SSV goes back to the beginning, that is to say, she’s Matt’s sister and has been his whole life. When she found herself looking for new pursuits, Matt was there with an offer, and she jumped right in. She is now the do-it- all, behind-the- scenes guru for the operation. Heidi does graphics and branding for the website and for the podcasts, works to head up communication between SSV and its partner schools, and does the on-boarding for all new franchisees. She is currently taking over management of the School Zone podcast and is also the SSV social media expert, which includes a lot of promotion work for both the website and the Marlin & Percy comics.
